Setting up the Cooperation with the Visegrad Patent Institute in Budapest
Directors of the International Visegrad Fund and the Visegrad Patent Institute (VPI) signed the Memorandum of understanding in Budapest. The cooperation is aimed at joint support of the innovation ecosystems of the Visegrad countries. The aim of the VPI is to offer users of the patent system from the Central and Eastern European region, in particular individual inventors, SMEs, universities and research organisations, a favourable and efficient option for obtaining patent protection abroad, and to that end to facilitate their access to the PCT system. In joint future activities we will aim at awareness-raising on patenting and sharing of experience and expertise as regards intellectual property rights.
“This is a very natural partnership and I deem it for success”, said Mr. Mareš from the IVF, “as both organisations follow the same goal of a better targeted support of research, development and innovation in our region and now we can help each other with the diverse tools we have at our disposal”.
