Updates to the V4 GEN Mini-Grants 2025
The Visegrad Fund announces several updates to the V4 GEN Mini-Grants Program Guidelines for projects approved in 2025, reflecting our continued commitment to strengthen youth mobility, democratic values, civic participation, and cross-border dialogue among young people. These improvements aim to make the grant scheme more accessible, impactful, and flexible for eligible entities across the Visegrad region and beyond.
Key Updates for 2025
1. Expanded Eligibility for Ukrainian Applicants
Building on the success of this year’s pilot program, the V4 GEN Mini-Grants Program will welcome applicants from Ukraine alongside applicants from V4 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia).
- Legal entities from Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine are eligible to apply for funding. Projects must involve at least two entities from eligible countries.
This step underscores our commitment to supporting Ukrainian youth and strengthening regional cooperation.
2. Streamlined Open Calls
In 2025, the number of open calls will be reduced from three to two, allowing for more focused application periods.
- First call: Opens on 1 March, with a deadline of 15 April 2025
- Second call: Opens on 1 October, with a deadline of 15 November 2025
3. Extended Implementation Period
To provide greater flexibility and encourage deeper project development, the implementation period for approved projects will be extended to seven months (up from six months). Additionally, projects must not start later than 5 months after each deadline.
Although we are reducing the number of calls, the annual budget for 2025 will increase by 10%. These changes ensure that the V4 GEN Mini-Grants Program continues to empower young people to drive positive change, strengthen regional dialogue, and explore creative solutions to shared challenges.
We look forward to seeing your innovative and inspiring projects in 2025!
