Close meeting • Prague

Group of closed meetings (online)

This task focuses on a series of closed professional meetings designed to strengthen collaboration among key players in the CEE animation ecosystem—broadcasters, and representatives of national film funds. The broadcasters working group will try to identify the needs of CEE broadcasters, map their positions within the market, identify co-production obstacles and explore joint acquisitions of animated series across the region. To address broadcasters’ need for easier access to nearly completed animated content, we will present a curated selection of 20 animated series or TV specials from the CEE region. These projects—six months before or upon completion—will include detailed information, producer contacts, and password-protected episode previews for buyers. This targeted initiative is expected to rapidly increase the number of CEE projects acquired by regional broadcasters. The aim of the second working group (national film funds) is to explore the possibilities for creating a new international, regional or European framework (Joint Co-development Mechanism) to support animated film projects in the development phase, where international collaborations and co-development of projects are already established. These two groups of professionals have extremely demanding schedules and rarely attend the same events simultaneously, so to accommodate their availability and reduce our ecological footprint, we are organising these meetings online. https://ceeanimation.eu/
Exhibition • Prague

Student Participants/Emerging Artists

Accommodation for 5 days and transportation (to and from Prague) are provided only for international participants from Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary. This includes 10 people from each country, representing 3 universities and 6 different departments, summing to 30 people. Artists receive a fee of 200 euros per department for art materials. Annually, we select around 200 students from Czech universities through an open call. However, we feel their fee for materials does not need to be as high because they benefit from proximity to their homes and studios, reducing the need for lengthy transportation of materials and artworks. A key role added to our organisational team is a guide for international students. This is a young student from Prague who recommends good places, assists international participants during their free time, and coordinates their overall experience during the exhibition—handling communication with hotels, travel logistics, and material sourcing on-site. The budget also includes a fee for our curator and project manager, Rebeka Pojarová, who serves as the main curator and selector for Czech students. She consults with international students about their projects before the exhibition and ensures smooth installation processes on-site in cooperation with the production team. https://www.prehlidkapokoje.cz
