V4 Improv Connect Retreat

PHOTO COMPETITION AND EXHIBITION

Hory a mesto have been organizing the Photo Competition and Exhibition since its inception in 2000. All photographers are invited to submit their images through the Festival promotional channels, they are then judged by a professional Jury. In addition to the V4 Grand Prize three images are awarded in each category of the Best V4 Photo, Mountain Culture and People, Mountain and Outdoor Sports, and Nature in the Mountains, for the total of 13 awarded images. The competition is open to professional and amateur photographers from all over the world, while special effort will be done to attract photographers from the region. The V4 category is open to photographers from the V4 countries while the photo itself must also be from the same areas. The winning photographs will be exhibited at the Festival for its duration and then touring to the other Festival venues across the region. www.horyamesto.sk

Workshop in BiH on use of local natural materials in construction

Workshop will be organized to support use of low-carbon natural building materials, mainly straw and clay., with the aim to improve the knowledge on the use of local materials and support the low emission eco-building in BiH. Based on experience from Slovakia and Poland, the specific resources and opportunities in the region of the BiH partner will be explored. The 2-days workshop will be organized in Laktaši, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) for about 10 participants with 2 Slovak and 1 Polish trainers and facilitator from BiH. The SK and PL trainers will stay in BiH for additional 2 days to do a survey on local natural building materials, the sources and quality, to assess the potential and requirements for their use for eco-building. This will be done in close cooperation with the local experts and stakeholders. The results of the assessment, recommendations, methods and procedures will be summarized by SK, PL and BiH experts in a report published online and will be used for further trainings and workshops in BiH.
