PhD Study in the Age of AI – workshop on AI in higher education and research at AGH University of Krakow
The 3-day workshop will bring together experts, educators, PhD students, and other relevant staff from all consortium members. The academic community of AGH will be invited to attend on-site or join the online audience. To allow morning arrivals from Visegrad region, the workshop will begin with an afternoon session featuring an invited talk by an external expert, followed by keynote presentations from each partner.
The second day will focus on the theme “PhD Study in the Age of AI.”. AGH has selected this topic due to its strong doctoral community (856 PhD students) and as a home to Poland’s only Center of Excellence in AI, where many PhD students are directly engaged with AI research. PhD students are one of the key target groups for the project, as AI significantly impacts all their roles: as students, educators, and researchers. The second day will open with presentations related to the focus topic, followed by a panel discussion giving audience members the opportunity to ask questions to a group of experts. The afternoon will feature a broader range of topics, with each consortium partner presenting recent achievements in AI for education or research.
The final day will be reserved for closed sessions. Firstly, the project steering committee meeting focused on project organization, workshop evaluation, and exploring project opportunities. In parallel, a PhD Forum will take place, offering a unique opportunity for PhD students to present their work to peers.
