Focusing on additional objectives in cooperation with the Republic of Korea

Executive Director of the Visegrad Fund Petr Mareš and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Slovakia, Byeongdo Lee, signed today a Memorandum of Understanding on the financial contribution of US$ 500,000 to projects targeting the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries in the following priority areas: democratization, reconciliation, freedom, security and promotion of peace.

At the ceremony, the Fund’s director appreciated the ongoing financial support of the Republic of Korea and declared that the Korean support is a tangible example of the long-term cooperation focused on joint assistance to the countries outside of the Visegrad region in the form of grant projects on democratization and transformation processes.
The Korean Ambassador underlined the strengthening cooperation between Korea and V4. “As a Korean Ambassador to Slovakia and as a main point of contact between Korea and the Visegrad Fund, I am happy to make the fourth contribution today. I will do my best to ensure that Korean contributions to the Fund are made on a continuous basis,” added Ambassador Byeongdo Lee.
