The Project of the Year 2022 has its winner!
The International Visegrad Fund announces the annual Project of the Year on the twenty-third anniversary of its establishment.
The fund recognizes the efforts of grantees who contribute to the improvement of Visegrad cooperation for the seventh time. The award the Project of the Year 2022 goes to Eastern Bloc Catwalk Concert. Representatives of Saharóza Zsófia Nagy and Bálint Szalontai received the award in person at the fund’s ceremonial reception.
The project was carried out by the Hungarian experimental vocal group Saharóza in cooperation with Stowarzyszenie Ludzi Sztuki “Grupa dzialania”, PRO SCENA, the Slovak scenography society, and ČOSDAT – Czech organization of scenographers, theatre architects and technicians.
The Eastern Block Catwalk Concert presents extravagant costumes with vocal electronic music and gives a glimpse into a day of a fictional country’s state TV channel during a special national holiday, exploring thus in a creative way the common socialist past of V4 countries and the wider “Eastern bloc”. The winning project receives a financial reward amounting to 2,500 Euro.
