Švestkový Dvůr / Plum Yard

Plum Yard is a cultural centre and space for residencies, education and independent art located in a rural area in South Bohemia in the small village of Malovice. Plum Yard is also home of the Continuo Theatre. The venue was completely renovated in 2015. Basic infrastructure, a shop and a pub are located in the village of Malovice, 1.2 km from the venue.

We welcome projects in the field of theatre and dance, new circus, performance and physical theatre. We also welcome writers and translators.

About the venue:

Theatre Hall (12 × 18 m, performance area 12 × 12 m) – with a complete inventory of theatre equipment, ceiling height 10 m, height of the truss construction 5.7 m.

Rehearsal Room (The White Room) (9 × 9 m) – height approx. 8 m, basic technical equipment.

Music Studio (approx. 5 × 7 m) – suitable as a music rehearsal room or for smaller projects, such as marionette productions.

Workshop – with equipment for the production of scenography.

Shared Areas – large equipped kitchen, common area with a bar, showers, toilets.

All rooms have a sanded wood floor. Cushioned dance floor is available (baletisol). Wi-fi is available. Pets and kids allowed.

Accommodation is available either in furnished, insulated trailers with heating, bedding and towels provided, or in shared rooms in the building.

Capacity is 20–40 people, always depending on the current projects. In general, the Plum Yard can host maximum 50 creatives and 100–200 people in the audience for onsite productions.
